| I have a problem with my idle. When I start the car the idle is rock-steady and slightly fast. Once the car warms up the idle begins loping. I'm thinking that once the engine gets up to a certain operating temperature the ECU goes into a different mode. I've already replaced the IACV but it made no difference. 1. Does anyone have a document of what different modes and functions the ECU goes into? For instance I'd like to know when the ECU instructs the purge valves to open, or when it starts reading the O2 sensors. 2. Does the ECU use the O2 sensors at idle? I've seen some people claiming that bad O2 sensors will cause a bad idle, but I've seen other people say that's not possible since the ECU doesn't read them at idle. Which is right?
